AutoGuard supports the Baja Carpathia Rally

On the 2nd-4th July 2010 the Baja Carpathia Rally will take place. The rally is the second edition of the last year Baja Polonia Rally. AutoGuard will take care of the competitors' safety by providing the special ASTO system (AutoGuard Safety Tracking Operation). This solution improves the safety of the rally participants and in case of an accident enables the rescue services to reach the accident place as soon as possible.

On Friday the Baja Carpathia Rally will begin with the Prologue on the motorcross track in Rzeszów-Zalęże. The Saturday stage is the longest special stage in Poland in the cross-country rallies, organized on the military grounds and in the neighbouring forests near Nowa Dęba. On Sunday the competition will be performed on the „new" stages, in the vicinity of Dynów, on the fast, hard and level roads of the gravel surface. The Baja Carpathia Rally will be the round of the Polish Championship, the Czech Championship, the Slovakia Cup and the FIA CEZ Trophy.

,,Introduction of the Baja in the championship's schedule and very good opinions expressed about the Baja Polonia 2009 will promt a lot of crews to take part in the Baja Carpathia. The rally route is very diversified, includes more than 430 km of special stages, and the total length of the route amounts to 718 km. We hope that this unique route on the European scale will attract fans not only from Poland". - said Mr Marcin Fiejdasz, Director of the Baja Carpathia 2010 Rally.

 

In order to ensure a better safety of the rally participants AutoGuard provided the ASTO system (AutoGuard Safety Tracking Operation), it allows for controlling passages of all vehicles that take part in the rally during the special stages and on other routes. The starting cars are equipped with the AutoGuard GPS devices containing the GPRS modem. The mode of operation is easy - the GPS determines the vehicle position and transmits the data through the GSM network to the programme. The application is processing received data and immediately projects them on the computers screens in the Rally Command Centre. It is important that the GPS device is equipped with its own power supply and it does not interfere in any way with the vehicle's electric installation. The time of the device installation in each vehicle amounts to 3-5 minutes. The installation can be executed during the scrutineering and it does not disturb the preparation of a competitor or a vehicle for a start.

In the Rally Command Centre the organizers are able to precisely monitor the movements of all vehicles of the participating competitors. The information about a car's accident or other incident on the special stage is immediately transmitted to the Rally Command Centre and initiates a rescue operation if it is needed. The start of the rescue can be automatic or it occurs after pressing of an alarm button by a driver or a pilot. The prior task of the ASTO system is improvement of the safety during the rallies, making the medical service reach those needing assistance as soon as possible. AutoGuard has been chosen an official partner of the rallies organized by the Polish Motor Association in order to provide the ASTO system during all rallies included in the Polish Motor Rally Championship. AutoGuard has perfected the ASTO system since 2004 by testing it during the sports events.
